Members of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Anka and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas of Zamfara State have raised the alarm over alleged attempts to forge already registered party membership numbers.

In a statement issued on Friday and signed by Nura Rabiu Cibiki, Director of Campaign and Mobilization for Hon. Abdulrahaman Yahaya, Aspirant for Anka–Talata Mafara Federal Constituency, the members said they were aware of their authentic membership strength.

“While justice can be delayed, the truth cannot be denied,” the statement read. The group strongly opposed any move to manipulate or duplicate legitimate membership figures, warning that such actions would worsen existing tensions within the party and the constituency.

The members stressed that they were fully prepared to defend the integrity of the ADC selflessly.

The statement ended with solidarity chants for Anka, Talata Mafara, Zamfara State, Nigeria, and the ADC.

Hon. Yahaya is seeking to represent Anka–Talata Mafara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Ex-Apc Spokesman Demands Probe As Zamfara Govt's Officials ‘Sells’ N120m Equipment For N13m

Former Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State and current Auditor General of the party, Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau, has called on Governor Dauda Lawal to urgently set up a committee to investigate and revoke the alleged auction of multi-million naira equipment belonging to the Zamfara State Printing and Publishing Company, publishers of The Legacy newspaper.

Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau, who was the pioneer Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Legacy Newspaper Chapel, expressed worry and disappointment over what he described as the management’s failure to properly run the organization.

Speaking in a television interview at Danfako Studio in Gusau, he said the alleged clandestine auction of the multi-million naira equipment and tools had exposed the reckless and mischievous actions of those involved.

According to him, equipment purchased about 20 years ago for over N120 million was sold for just N13 million. He stressed that the description of the equipment as ‘scrap’ was aimed at deceiving the Chief Executive to obtain approval for the auction.

The former APC spokesman said he was ready to forward the matter to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, and other anti-corruption agencies to ensure justice and the recovery of the equipment.
